Sow your seeds in straight lines (drills) as this will enable you to tell your crop seedlings from any weeds that appear. Sow your seeds nice and thick, and thin out some of the plants as they grow – these can go straight in your salad bowl or sandwich! Keeping the soil moist will help these plants do well and, in turn, they will provide you with plenty of vitamins A & C. If you don’t have a garden, they can also be easily grown in containers, a sunny spot by the back door, or on a lonely windowsill!

Easy and reasonably quick to grow, this is the perfect place to start if you want to turn your hand to growing organic produce! You can do multiple sowing throughout a season and thus enjoy ‘plot to plate’ on a regular basis.
