The global pandemic has encouraged a huge uptake in gardening and growing from seeds, especially organic varieties. As an unprecedented number of people seek to grow their own, this has impacted the availability of seed until future seed crops can be harvested.
Brexit has created challenges for horticulture with added expense and logistical complications in moving seed between countries. Seed shortages have also led some suppliers to sell to companies within their own countries in the first instance.
The Organic Gardening Catalogue team are working with growers and suppliers throughout the world, and especially in the UK to find solutions, with the aim of producing more seed in the UK and improving our seed supply security.
In the meantime, please be assured that we are doing our utmost to maintain stock levels of your favourite varieties - seed stock availability is updated daily on our website, so please visit regularly or click the 'email when back in stock' button to get the notification directly to your inbox.
