Average Seeds 40
The Broad Bean Eleonora is a fantastic variety of broad bean that produces sturdy little plants that only grow to between 40–80cm tall. Being slightly smaller than other varieties, they are ideal to be planted in more exposed areas of your garden as they don’t fall over. Despite the plants being small, they produce long pods of broad beans! This means you aren’t sacrificing having more broad beans to save space. Scented and attractive to bees.
The broad beans produced by Broad Bean Eleonora are very tasty and will enhance any dish they are added to. Whether you eat them fresh from the plant or freeze them for use later on, you’ll enjoy the rich taste of the beans and home-grown always tastes better! Before the beans come through the plants produce very pretty, fragrant flowers complemented by delicate looking white flowers. Making even your vegetable patch look pretty. Harvest your broad beans between June–August.
Sow directly into soil prepared by digging and raking at a depth of 5cm (2"), spacing the seeds 20cm (8") apart. Best sown alternately in double rows allowing 23cm (9") between the two lines forming each row. Allow 60–90cm (24–36") between further rows. Germination 7–21 days. Can also be sown in pots or trays of compost on a windowsill or in a greenhouse for eventual planting outside.
