Pea Seeds - Douce Provence (Organic) 780432
A traditional French variety with high yields of tender, well flavoured peas. For autumn and spring sowing. Height 60cm. 150 seeds.
Sow in well dug ground from March to June, incorporating plenty of well rotted compost. Sow 5cm deep, 3cm apart, with 60Ė90cm between rows. A good source of vitamins and folic acid. Mangetout types are a good source of vitamins A & C as the pod is eaten. Eat raw or steam gently to retain nutrient values. As soon as pods are harvested, sugars begin conversion to starch, so eat soon after picking.
Pick in the evening after a day of sun on the plants for super-sweet pods that youíll probably finish eating before you get the chance to cook them ... at least thatís what happens to us.
