Our Garlic is selected for northern European conditions. Plant Nov-Feb spacing 15cm between cloves. 150g will plant about a 4m row. When the first six leaves have turned yellow, lift and dry in the sun or in an airy shed. Ideally plant soon after receipt, otherwise store in a cool dry place. Weights quoted are when packed, some drying out may occur. See individual garlic varieties for availability and delivery.
Hardneck Garlic originates from climates with colder winters. It produces larger cloves with a stronger and more interesting flavour, but stores only until mid-winter. Flower stalks with edible 'scapes' appear readily.
Softneck Garlic generally produces smaller, more tightly-packed cloves and has better storage qualities than hardneck varieties. It does not produce flower stalks unless stressed.
