Three first-class peppers, all of which show excellent virus resistance and will produce a good crop of tasty peppers! Collection contains three plants (1 of each variety):
F1 Milena - A strong vigorous orange pepper. This pepper plant will produce heavy crops of these mouth-watering medium-sized peppers. The F1 Milena is strong growing and early maturing, producing beautifully uniformly shaped peppers. Its fruits will have thick walls that ripen into a deep orange colour, this pepper plant is well adapted to grow in unheated greenhouses or outdoors from late spring.
Denver -An early maturing, heavy cropping pepper, producing large, uniform, blocky-shaped peppers that turn from dark green to bright red as they mature. Resistant to cucumber mosaic virus.
F1 Chelsea - A strong vigorous sweet pepper. This sweet pepper plant will produce heavy crops of these mouth-watering medium-sized yellow peppers. Quick to ripen this pepper plant fruits will transform from a deep green to luscious bright yellow, they really are a work of art. Tender and sweet, the F1 Chelsea is better suited for salads and uncooked dishes
Grafting onto specific rootstocks, of course, creates bigger, better, more disease-resistant plants with increased yield. Consequently, we believe, the extra vigour which the plant obtains will provide even better protection to late Blight attack, and the plants will grow away from any infection even more rapidly.
Grow in the greenhouse or outdoors, little or no heating required. With excellent resistance to soil-borne pest and diseases - No more ring culture or grow bags you simply plant straight in the soil.
On arrival water if necessary with tepid water. Leave them on a shaded windowsill or in a greenhouse for a few hours to settle before further handling, ensuring a frost-free non-draughty situation. Stand the plant in a warm, light, airy place such as a conservatory or greenhouse and allow to grow, ensuring that the compost is kept moist.
There is a possibility that your plant will include a grafting clip if it does, this is an integral part of the grafting process and that it should be left in place. As the plant grows it will naturally shrug off the clip.
On Receipt - Check the plants are moist and grow on in 10cm pots using a good quality potting compost. When planting, ensure that the graft is well above soil level to prevent the scion rooting into the soil which would reduce resistance to soil borne diseases. Maintaining a temperature of 16-18ºC (60-65ºF) and provide a cane support.
Growing On - Once the roots fill the pots, transfer into 30cm (12″) pots or plant in the greenhouse border 60cm (2') apart. The plants are not suitable for growing in grow bags due to the strong root system. They are vigorous plants and as the fruit start to set start feeding twice a week using a liquid tomato fertiliser. On hot sunny days damp down the pathways to increase the humidity and misting the plants with water will aid fruit setting. The plants can be grown on a sunny patio once the danger of frost has passed in early June but the best results will be obtained when grown in the greenhouse.
