Description Sowing and Usage Questions Reviews

Earth Cycle Organic Cow Compost is a nutrient-dense organic soil conditioner based on composted cow manure from an organic dairy herd.

Ideal for vigorous root, shoot and bud growth in roses, vegetables, fruit and herbaceous borders. Incorporation improves drainage and aeration in heavy clay soils and adds body to light sandy soils, helping to retain moisture and nutrients.

It improves soil fertility by adding vital humus and plant nutrients, encouraging healthy plant growth. It also boosts beneficial soil life leading to healthy soil microbial activity that helps to naturally suppress plant diseases.

Compost enhances moisture retention in soil, leading to improved drought resistance meaning that more moisture is available for your plants during dry periods which is critical for them to flourish.

Sowing and Usage
General Soil Improvement Spread a layer 5-10cm (2-4") deep on flower beds, borders and vegetable plots, and fork in to 15cm (6"). Vegetable Growing For brassicas, peas, beans or sweet peas, dig and cover the bottom of a trench with Earth Cycle Organic Cow Compost, then fill the trench with a mix of one part Organic Cow Compost and two parts soil. For planting cucumbers, tomatoes and other vegetables, fill the hole with a mix of one part Earth Cycle Organic Cow Compost and two parts soil. Planting Roses, Trees and Shrubs Dig a hole twice the diameter of the root-ball; at least 30cm (1 ft) if planting a bare-root. Mix one part of Earth Cycle Organic Cow Compost to two parts of soil. Place some of the mix in the bottom of the hole and refill around the roots. Firm in and water well. During the first season water well. Bush & Top Fruit Crops Apply Earth Cycle Organic Cow Compost around established fruit trees in spring to improve yield. This will result in better fruit on raspberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries and top fruit like apples and pears. Herbaceous and Flower Borders Pre-dressing flower beds with Earth Cycle Organic Cow Compost will give better blooms. Apply a 50mm (2”) layer and gently fork in or leave as a mulch.
