BeeMat is a ready seeded mat that contains mixed flower seeds selected to provide nectar and pollen for bees.
Our bees are in serious decline through disease, loss of habitat and intensive farming, and research shows that planting wild flowers really can really make a big difference. Use BeeMat in Spring and Summer on flowerbeds, pots, troughs, allotments and orchards to provide nectar and pollen for bees.
Simply prepare the ground and remove weeds.
Lay the BeeMat and cover with 5-10mm of sand or compost, then water occassionally to help germination. BeeMat can be easily cut to the size required.
A mix of annual, biennial and perennial seed varieties include: Common Knapweed, Cosmos, Borage, Anise Hyssop, Verbena, Californian Poppy and Lady Phacelia.
Dimensions: 20m long x 0.75m wide.
Not certified organically grown.

How to use:
Select a sheltered sunny spot. Remove all weeds and prepare the soil so that it is smooth, level and free of clods. Lay the mat and cover with 5-10mm of sand, sieved soil or compost. You can cover with Envirofleece or Enviromesh mesh to help germination and early establishment, as well as keeping birds off. Water regularly, especially in hot dry conditions. At the end of the season, the remains of the mat can be composted or dug into the soil.
