Many prefer the mild flavour of shallots to onions. Each bulb planted out produces a clump of small bulbs.

Shallots are available between mid December and March and we accept orders from October. Unpack when received and store in a cool place until planting time. Plant from January onwards, 20cm apart. Lift when the top leaves turn yellow, dry the bulbs in the sun and hang up in a cool dry place.
